Summer Wedding at The Ashes Wedding Barns

Michelle & Russ' summer wedding at The Ashes Wedding Barns was an absolute delight to be a part of. With black ties, gorgeous florals, delicious ice cream and dancing, who wouldn't want to be a part of it.

Working at The Ashes is always special, especially when the couple are as cool as Michelle & Russ. They were so amazing to work with. Laid back and chilled. Just how all my couples are really! Spending the day with friends and family is what it's all about. Throw in some confetti and the odd rain shower and we have the recipe for a great wedding.

Ice Cream

It's always a treat to see Polly's Parlour - Vintage Ice Cream Van 'cos I know how delicious their ice cream is! But also because they are gorgeous 1966 VW splitscreens! They have two to choose from, Florence and Matilda. Check out their website for more info.

They always let the couple make their own ice cream and they often serve some of their guests too!

Let's talk about The Weather

A summer wedding just isn't a summer wedding without a bit of rain is it? Do we care? Do we heck. We just get the umbrellas out and carry on eating our Ice Cream! There's something nice about a summer shower anyway. It freshens everything up. And if you're having the best day of your life, you don't really care about the weather do you.

Floral Treats

As well as Ice Cream treats, they had all the beautiful bouquets, button holes and table arrangements provided by the talented (and a firm favourite) The topiary Tree florist. These guys are second to none in their field. You really must get in touch with them if you're planning your wedding. As well as being talented florists they are also the loveliest people you could meet.
