Raflyn & Jon Rei's outdoor Staffordshire wedding at The Ashes in Endon.

Raflyn & Jon Rei had a gorgeous outdoor Staffordshire wedding at The Ashes earlier in June. Close family and friends all joined them to celebrate and they certainly had the best day.

It was wonderful to work alongside Stephan from YSD Media. If you are looking for a videographer for your day, I can highly recommend Stephan.

They opted for the caterpillar layout for their wedding breakfast, which always works well for a more intimate wedding. The barns, tables, bouquets and floristry in general, were provided by the amazing, one and only, Topiary Tree Florist. Always a delight to see my good friends. And they produce the most amazing work too.

As the Ashes is an outdoor Staffordshire wedding venue, we were so lucky with the weather as we had fabulous weather all day and got to walk down to the wheat fields at the bottom of the drive for some evening portraits with Raflyn & Jon Rei. They were such good sports and so much fun to work with.

Due to covid restrictions, they decided to do their first dance outside in the court yard. Perfect! Luckily, The Ashes being an outdoor Staffordshire wedding venue, they had the perfect spot for their dance. They danced to 'The One' by Kodaline.

I always love to know about my couples and here's how they met and how Jon Rei proposed.

How long have you been together and how did you meet?

We've been together for 5 years. Engaged for 4 years. We met at his best friend's Dad's funeral. I used to work with his best friend's Dad. We had common friends but we never met before. He was funny at the funeral. Made everyone laugh, it almost didn't felt like a funeral. Later that day he asked for my number. We became friends and then became a couple.

Who proposed and how did you do it?

Jon Rei on a holiday in Palawan Philippines. We hired a boat to go to one of the islands with his best mate. Then we went snorkeling at one of the coral reef spots where you can feed the fish. While we were feeding the fish under water, he pulled out a ring and that's when I knew.. he's proposing. I had to nod at him to say 'yes' because we had all this snorkeling gear on and we were under water! Lol
