February Roundup

February Roundup

Here’s my February roundup, including the weddings, the business and the personal!

Even though February is the shortest month (albeit a day longer this year; get your proposals at the ready girls!) to me, it always feels like it’s endless. It must be the time of year. I have had enough of the dark nights, the bleak grey skies and the cold. I want a bit of warmth and some sunshine already!

Intimate Wedding

All that aside, it’s been a great month! I’ve shot a lovely, very intimate wedding at Pendrell Hall. With Jane at the helm, Marueen & Robert had a wonderfully private ceremony, with sandwiches and cake afterwards. It was just the two of them, plus two witnesses. And it was just perfect. I wish you both all the very best, enjoy every single second of your new married life together.

I also have a wedding today (29th February) at The Ashes… does that mean they will only have an anniversary every four years!? hmmmm….. Bobbi & Matt, I’m on my way! Let’s do this!

Engagement shoot

Continuing with the February roundup, it saw the wonderful engagement shoot of Vicky & Sean, who are getting married at The Ashes later this year. You all know how much I love The Ashes! I can’t wait for their day. They are such a fun couple, it’s going to be a great day.

Straight after their engagement shoot, I was so excited to meet up with one of my past (and very lovely) brides, Helen. We met at The Downs Banks in Barlaston for a shoot with Helen’s sister and her gorgeous little man. What an absolute treat. It was lovely to catch up and hear here news that she and Simon are expecting their very first baby! A little girl. How amazing.

Meetings

A February roundup wouldn’t be complete without meetings! February is always a busy month for meetings with new couples. And I have met lots of fun couples this year! You all rock and I can’t wait to work with you on your day!

I also met and had a coffee with a great local photographer who is just starting out. It’s always good to network with new talent. Connecting with other photographers is always a good idea. We can all learn from each other and support each other. It’s can be quite a lonely life for a wedding photographer, so getting out and meeting people is always high on my list!

Celebration

February in our house means birthday cake and celebration… for Russell! We had our family over, who helped us to eat the cake and drink the beer 🙂 It was a lovely afternoon.

Happy Birthday Russell!

Also continuing throughout February, we are helping my boy, Harry, to renovate his new apartment. Whenever we get a spare day, we’ve been over to Derby to help where we can. It’s very exciting!

Looking back at February

Looking back at February, it’s been a good month, but I am excited to welcome March! The clocks going forward is always welcome in my world!!

See you next time!
