FABULOUS PENDRELL HALL WEDDING WITH – CARLY AND DOUG

A truly lovely wedding at Pendrell Hall in the Midlands

When Carly and Doug first got in touch with me about their Pendrell Hall wedding in Codsall, I was so thrilled – they were planning a really fun and stylish wedding with an intimate ceremony, a quiz and even Willy Wonka Chocolate. Carly and Doug seemed like the most fun people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Bridal prep

I began the morning at Carly’s mum and dad’s, where the bride and her mum were getting ready together with her Bridesmaids, and it was so much fun, because everyone was in a good mood.

The serious part

The wedding took place at Pendrell Hall, and was a beautiful intimate ceremony. They had personal vows they wrote themselves, which was so beautiful. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then the couple danced back down the aisle together.

After the ceremony

The wedding reception took place in the wonderful Pendrell Hall, which they’d decorated with a book theme with Carly being a teacher. It was so unique.

It was a drizzly day, which wasn’t in the plan but the couple didn’t mind. While the guests ate canapes, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our couples session is the smoke bomb!

For the wedding breakfast they had proper wedding grub, and it was absolutely delicious. After the wedding breakfast there were a few speeches, then everyone migrated to the bar and the party got started.

The couple

Carly and Doug met while both working front of house at The Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton, 5 years ago.

How did Doug pop the question?  “I (Carly) got home to find the car all packed up and Doug set off to our favourite place, Somerset.I didn’t think too much of it because we go here regularly throughout the year as our escape. The next day we went for an afternoon picnic on the beach with our dog. We were stood watching the dog run around very quietly together when she decided to stop and do a poo! As she was only a puppy, I ran over to praise her and clean it up. much to Doug’s frustration! Then shortly after, when the moment returned, Doug got down on one knee and proposed! He had written it on a page of my favourite book, Peter Pan, but I’d found the book in the bag earlier on and told him not to be so silly as to bring such a nice book to the beach as it’d get ruined with the sand! But in between the poo and Peter Pan, we got there!”

Here’s their beautiful Pendrell Hall wedding!
